Step 1 lead-in Ask ss questions aboutfestivals and show ss some pictures and let them guess what the festival is. Step 2 let ss watch a video and pay attention to the name of the festival ,where,when and how to celebrate. Step 3check the details together Hanami,in sping &in Japan,people picnic under the cherry trees and admire the blossoms The Rose Festival,in summer& in Bulgaria,rose growers pick rose and then sing and dance to express their joy in a parade Mid-autumn Day,in autumn & in China,people have family reunions and eat moon cakes while enjoying the sight of the full moon The Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival,in winter&in Harbin,people around the world come to Harbin to enjoy this “cool”celebrations Step 3 Brainstorming let ss do a brainstorming about more festivalsand the reasons to celebrate Step 4 let ss read the picturesand make a predication Step 5 pair work Let ss discuss with each other and finish activity 2 Step 6 homework Hand-out paper & preview Reading Part |
